What is Money? What is a dollar worth?
Money is such a simple concept and in one form or the other is as old as every community on Earth. Yet It was much simpler when people traded furs for other tangible goods. Fast forward to today’s world of fiat currency, international monetary policy, inflation, crypto currency and NFTs, and it is easy to lose track of what a solid investment might actually be without the psychological manipulation of current events. It never hurts to have a safe harbor in the currency/money storm.
Ben Bernanke, former Federal Reserve chairman was once asked by Representative Ron Paul (R-TX) what a Dollar was worth in a Congressional Session which he responded:
"My definition of the dollar is what it can buy. Consumers don't want to buy gold; they want to buy food, and gasoline, and clothes and all the other things that are in the consumer basket. It is the buying power of the dollar in terms of those goods and services that is what is important, and that's what I call price stability."
This definition does nothing but confuse the subject. Before regulated currency existed, a man could trap an animal, tan the hide into a valuable fur and trade it for a basket of corn. The hunter was given value for his time and effort and exchanged that in a fair and equitable manner with a farmer. In today’s world, you work just as hard to get the same base rate of pay, yet the monetary policy of government extracts value from the tradable dollar in the form of inflation, coupled with supply chain issues and takes from you the value of your labor. This situation gets more complex the more taxation and regulation by political parties gets involved with social programs that you cannot control. This is evident in the spot price of gold or silver “Dollars” in relation to the value of paper dollars that are used in everyday transactions.
Congress has done little to help define the actual value of a dollar, making legislation that twists the language to achieve confusion and reliance upon experts in monetary policy as to what your psychological belief of value is. In addition, it is their position that a dollar is based upon the “full faith and credit” of the government and its credit rating.
You are the value. You are the energy. You are the most important aspect of all money on Earth. How are you going to harness your spirit and get full, equal, and fair value for your living spirit?
